Ally Wollaston at the start of AG Tour de la Semois
On Friday, September 20th and Saturday, September 21st, the fifth edition of the Tour de la Semois will take place in and around Vresse-sur-Semois, located in the Walloon province of Namur.
The race kicks off on Friday with the first stage, a 110.3 km route from Bohan to Vresse-sur-Semois, including two local laps of 15.7 km at the end. Saturday features the second stage, a 112.4 km race starting and finishing in Bertrix.
The AG Insurance – Soudal lineup includes:
- Ally Wollaston
- Febe Jooris
- Fien Masure
- Jade Linthoudt
- Margot Marasco
- Tess Moerman
Sports director Fien Delbaere is looking forward to the race: "We have a great mix of U23 riders along with elite rider Ally Wollaston. Ally has just recovered from illness, which prevented her from starting in Isbergues and GP de Wallonie. Now she is back to 100%, and I’m curious to see how she performs in the race. If she is truly at her best, she can definitely compete for a strong result, as she is also a good climber. The field is quite diverse, with many club teams as well as strong teams like Movistar and Visma – Lease a Bike, which creates a wide range of competition levels.
I’m also eager to see what Tess can do in this field. She has already shown in the Tour de l’Avenir that she can climb well. For her, this is a test to learn more about herself and see how far she can go. The other riders will also have the opportunity to challenge themselves on this demanding course. I’m excited for the race and hope we can achieve a strong result.”
