This past Sunday, March 30th, the time trial in Borlo was on the calendar — and it delivered not one, but two victories for AG Insurance – Soudal. In the elite category, Julie Van De Velde delivered a commanding performance and took a convincing win with a lead of no less than 1 minute and 15 seconds over her closest competitor, Julie Sap. In the youth category, Luca Vierstraete showed her class with an impressive victory after a strong individual effort over 29.4 kilometres.

The time trial consisted of two laps of 14.7 kilometres each, with the start and finish in Borlo. The course took the riders through the villages of Niel, Montenaken, and Jeuk. On the gently rolling terrain, our riders displayed great form and focus. It was a strong collective performance, with all AG Insurance – Soudal riders finishing inside the top ten.

In addition to Luca Vierstraete’s win, Emma Siegers secured an excellent second place. Tess Moerman recorded the fifth-fastest time, while Jade Linthoudt crossed the line in eighth place.

After the race, winner Luca Vierstraete said:"The start was very stressful because my power meter had stopped working. But once I got going, my confidence came back and I just focused. My legs felt really strong and I was able to overtake five riders along the way, which gave me a boost. I'm super happy to show my good form to the team after a rough start to the season due to bad luck. Now I’ve regained confidence for the upcoming races. I'm already looking forward to what’s next — and the Scheldeprijs is coming up."
