The AG Insurance - Soudal team shone once again, with impressive performances from Mireia Benito, Justine Ghekiere, and Kim Le Court.

The second stage of the Volta Ciclista a Catalunya was a true paradise for climbers. Starting in La Seu d’Urgell and finishing in La Molina over a distance of 95,7 kilometers, this stage was filled with challenging first-category climbs, including the Collada de Toses and the final climb to La Molina.

Justine Ghekiere excelled by capturing the mountain jersey for the second consecutive day and also took home the prize for the most combative rider. Mireia Benito claimed the jersey for the best Catalan rider for the second day in a row.

Kim Le Court ensured a strong finish to the day by placing herself in the top five. She crossed the finish line in fifth place at the top of La Molina, earning her a well-deserved fifth position in the overall classification.

After the finish, a strong Kim Le Court reflected: “Today was a personal test for me, climbing the mountains and racing at such a high altitude, 1800 meter above sea level, for the first time. These challenging conditions made my breathing very difficult, and I felt quite nauseous during the first climb. But I knew I had to stay focused, and my incredible teammates were there to keep me going.”

“In the end, I secured a 5th place finish, which I’m thrilled about! Of course, I’m aiming even higher and I’m confident that with time, I’ll reach my goals. Today’s race showed me that I’m on the right track with my training and mindset. There’s still a lot of work ahead, but I’m feeling motivated and ready to push forward!”

In addition, the AG Insurance - Soudal riders also lined up at the start of Elmos Dwars door het Hageland, where Ilse Pluimers secured a top fifteen spot by finishing in eleventh place. The victory went to Lucinda Brand.
